"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
Thank you so much for your heartfelt support and encouragement over these past 15 months and 22 days! It has been quite a journey and I have been privileged to travel it with many devoted companions.
In this walk of faith, I learned many years ago that true success is not necessarily measured by outward results, but rather that obedience to the will of God equals success. In this light, I hope you will understand when I say that I believe that I succeeded in this endeavor, because I answered God's call to run for Congress as completely and fully as I know how.
I understand feelings of disappointment, questions of "what if," and so on, but I hope that you will not linger there long. Certainly, I realize that there are lessons to be learned and understanding to be gained from this entire process, but ultimately we must rest in the knowledge that God is in control and He did not choose to send me to Washington at this time.
I have no further plans to run for political office at this time, because I am not motivated by political ambitions. It is my desire to simply honor God and obey Him, wherever that may take me in life. If God calls me again, however, I will not hesitate. I am not discouraged, I am not defeated. I believe everything I said about the future of our nation being at stake and I am absolutely committed to serving God in this generation.
Thank you again for all your prayers, work, and sacrificial giving. Nothing is wasted when we are trying to serve God and Country out of the right motivations. There are no regrets. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Congratulations to Jeff Duncan. Let us pray for him and his campaign going forward. There are very few policy differences between us and I believe that he will represent the Third District well.
For God and Country, your friend,
Richard Cash
